[ Abstract ]
I will discuss the Diophantine properties of a typical point chosen by a fractal measure on $R^d$. We will see how this problem is connected to the effective equidistribution of certain random walks on the quotient $SL_{d+1}(\mathbb R)/SL_{d+1}(\mathbb Z)$. Joint work with Weikun He and Han Zhang.
