Abstract: What happens to SUq(2) under the change q → -q? Motivated by this question, and a more general twisting construction related to the Kazhdan-Wenzl categories, we propose a twisting procedure for quantum groups graded and acted by a same group. This twisting provides new insights to relation among the free quantum groups and their analogues. Variations of this construction can be also defined for quantum group actions and also for the categorical counterparts. Based on joint works with J. Bichon and S. Neshveyev.
