Title: Combining Pseudodifferential and Vector Bundle Techniques, and Their Applications to Topological Insulators

Abstract: This talk will give a pedagogical introduction as to how pseudodifferential and vector bundle techniques can be combined to great effect in the analysis of topological insulators. The talk will be divided in three parts: The first part will explain how vector bundles (with symmetries) arise naturally in the context of periodic operators, and discuss their structure. Next, I will link them to the dynamics of topological states. And lastly, I will outline how to handle perturbations using pseudodifferential operators on vector bundles.
