Access to
the Komaba campus and the math building

From
Narita airport
to Shibuya station.
There are at least 3 ways.

Narita express.
This can be the easiest although not the cheapest.
You can buy a ticket at the Narita airport
station valid up to Shibuya.
You find a ticket counter immediately after you
leave the custom area.
There are also vending machines near the entrance to
the station.
They accept both bills and coins (Japanese yen only)
and give you changes.
I suppose they accept credit cards but
I am not sure if they accept ones issued abroad.

Skyliner.
Change to the Yamanote line
at Nippori station.
Getting a ticket must be similar to Narita express.

Limousine bus.
You find a ticket counter immediately after you
leave the custom area.
If you plan to change to Inokashira line,
get off at Shibuya Fukuras.
The station is in a next building.

Narita express will leave you
on the platform No 3.
In the

You need to change to
(Keio-)Inokashira line.
Shibuya Station is now under construction
and makes a big maze.
If you take
Yamanote line,
you will be on
the platform No 1 or 2.
In the same

From
Haneda airport
to Shibuya station.
There are at least 2 ways.

Keikyu(pronounced like KQ in English)
Change to Yamanote line at Shinagawa station.
Don't go to Yokohama.

Limousine bus.
If you plan to change to Inokashira line,
get off at Shibuya Fukuras.
The station is in a next building.

Yamanote line will leave you
on the platform No 1.

From Shibuya to Komaba.
- By (Keio-)Inokashira line,
the second stop is Komaba-Todai-mae
(means Komaba, in front of the University of Tokyo)
station. It costs 120 yen.
An express does NOT stop there.
It is convenient to buy a prepaid
electric money
called Pasmo or Suica.
By charging the money in advance,
you can use it to take any subway, metro, bus,
including the Inokashira line and the Yamanote line.
You can also use it to pay
at any convenience stores.
You can get back the deposit 500 yen when you finish using
and return the card.
- You can walk,
if you know the way.
It is about 20 min.
In Komaba.
Your exit at the Komaba-Todai-mae
is close to the tail of the train from Shibuya.
Go up stairs to leave the station.
Then,
in the detailed
map,
you will be at
Todai Gate.
The math building is found in the lower right part of the
map.

To go to the
Komaba faculty house
,
you can also take the west gate
near the top of the train.
Go down stairs to leave the station.
Then,
in the detailed
map,
you will be at West gate.
If you arrive after 9pm,
with a notice in advance,
we can arrange so that
you can get the key from
the guard at the Main Gate.
You can enter the room after 3pm.
If you arrive earlier, you need to kill time
e.g at a cafe north of the math building.
