Lectures

Martin Olsson (UC Berkeley): “Arithmetic and derived categories of coherent sheaves”

Abstract:
In recent years there have been a lot of developments relating the derived category of coherent sheaves D(X) of a variety X over a field k, to arithmetic invariants. The aim of this lecture series is to survey some of these developments. Particular emphasis will be placed on cohomological information that can be extracted from the derived category.
Exercises:
Lecture 1, Lecture 2

Sug Woo Shin (UC Berkeley): “Cohomology of Igusa Varieties”

Parts (roughly corresponding to the four lectures):
  1. Modular curves and Igusa curves
  2. Points of Shimura varieties in char p
  3. Points of Igusa varieties in char p
  4. Applications to geometry
Notes:
Lecture 1, Lecture 2, Lecture 3
