Library
The library of the Math Department can be found on the
ground floor of the same building. It is locked.
The librarian or any passing student can let you in.
There are also seminar rooms on the various floors
of the building. You are welcome to use them for
discussions or your own work. If you find such
a room locked, ask one of the locals to open it for you.
Secretaries
Frau Frei <ludmilla.frei@math.uni-freiburg.de> and Frau Brunner <irina.brunner@math.uni-freiburg.de> share an office in room 421. You'll also find
the offices of the local organizers on the same floor.
Hike
It was while walking in the hills surrounding Freiburg that Ferdinand von Lindermann discovered his celebrated proof of the transcendence of π, thus settling the question of squaring the circle studied by Greek geometers more than two millennia earlier.
On Wednesday afternoon we propose a hike in these same hills. When the weather is clear, there are impressive views of the Black Forest to the east, and the Kaiserstuhl wine region to the north-west.
Party! Dine!
Tuesday evening: Apero
You are invited for drinks from 17-19 at FRIAS Lounge.
Wednesday afternoon: Hike.
See above. If it is raining we plan to visit the University Museum instead.
Thursday evening: Conference dinner
From 19.00 at Schwarzwälder Hof, Herrenstr. 43, you will be able to dine at a traditional
restaurant serving Baden food. Unfortunately,
everyone will have to pay their own
consumption.
